Hello Guys...

I recently updated my DA and now have the improved SpamBlocker 2.1.1.

I noticed the default recommends NOT to "require verify = sender", as leaving it commented out. Seems to me some previous had it on as the default.

What is the major Pros & Cons to activating this again, etc.? Seems it would/should cut out a lot of spoofed messages. Or is something else picking up the slack. I don't relay any e-mail, so that part shouldn't affect me.

I also read about some other version using "callout" with ir instead of "sender", etc. Any comments on this.

Thanks everyone in advance!!!

Several problems with activating it:

1) if for some reason your DNS resolver stops working you won't get any email.

2) if you can't reach the sending server for some reason you won't be able to accept the email.

3) If the sending server doesn't reply to the request (many don't; they don't want to give away who gets mail on the server) you won't be able to accept the email.

4) I think this quote is from Jon Postel, but I'm not sure: Be liberal in what you accept and conservative in what you transmit.
