Upgrade fomr 5.3 to 5.5

I dont do binary updates but via cvsup and src instead.

However assuming their process works their shouldnt be a problem with directadmin afterwards as the changes are mianly bug fixes, things you may need to be ware off.

SSH configuration, just incase have telnet or another backdoor entry configured for the first reboot after upgrade.

You may need to reinstall exim if you have the base system overwrite the sendmail.

since it is like this on DA

lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 4 May 14 23:03 /usr/sbin/sendmail -> exim

or simply reapply the symlink.

Bind will have a version upgrade as well as openssl, this may need you to recompile some stuff that is statically linked to the openssl binaries and for you to check bind is functioning ok.

Thats all I can think off right now but DA will likely just run right of the reboot and the only real problem I see is the exim/sendmail.

I wouldnt upgrade just yet. Stay with 5.4 for now it is rock solid stable. 5.5 was only released just this week. Wait until it has been officially tested by directadmin.

Thnks everyone for your input, I think I'll go to 5.4 and hang on a bit for 5.5
