I have a similar problem as this thread: http://www.directadmin.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2212

After upgrading FreeBSD this weekend on two different DA servers, email works fine sending and receiving with outlook but webmail can not send email, only read email. I get the same error:

It was not possible to send this e-mail

SMTP Error: Invalid username/password

The other post had reinstalled exim to fix the problem. Is there any easier fix than that? I have already tried the solution in the other post but it does not work. I've also tried sending an email in webmail from several different accounts on seperate domains. So it is not account specific. The exim mainlog, paniclog, and errorlog say nothing at all.

Thanks.

So you don't have the /etc/virtual/pophosts file? .. Try running:
cd /usr/local/directadmin/scripts
./webmail.sh

.. see if that helps, else try resetting thep password? ..

I have the /etc/virtual/pophosts file. I am not sure what it is supposed to contain, but its there. I ran the webmail script with no change.

Like I said webmail works (for reading messages) I just can't send one.

This is for ALL users. Everyone on every domain. So changing the passwords doesn't seem like the correct "fix". I tried it anyways with one account and changing the password didn't work.

I'll send my details, maybe you can log in and have a look.

Thanks.
