Hi,
since a few days i have the problem that named is filling up my logs with following logs (/var/log/messages and /var/named/data/named.run):

Dec 20 13:19:13 host named[1756]: TCP connection failed: invalid file

Also the status of named returns following:

[root@host /]# service named status
Redirecting to /bin/systemctl status named.service
● named.service - Berkeley Internet Name Domain (DNS)
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/named.service; enabled; preset: disabled)

top command prints out following, that named is using many resources:

PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
1756 named 20 0 985460 94112 7364 S 116.8 0.5 108:38.98 named

I don't know how to fix this and didn't found anything on the internet.

I am using DirectAdmin Version: 1.656 (Also having the error with v1.657)
OS: AlmaLinux 9
ECC RAM and so on...

Just a question which came into my mind, and since nobody else is answering....

I've also searched on the net and couldn't find anything.
However, you are using Cloudflare DNS.

Are you by any chance, pointing to the Cloudflare nameservers somewhere in your DNS settings of Directadmin?

No, the DNS settings are default in DirectAdmin. So nowhere is anything configured about CloudFlare in DirectAdmin. Don't think it has anything in common with it, because i used Cloudflare for a long time in this setup and the first 2 month it worked without any problem.
Thanks
