DirectAdmin 1.686

That's awesome! This bug gave me too many headaches on my first install after years. It would have been nice that I tried to install after this update, but my luck 😂

Would it be reasonable to expect DA to test their software? At least the key features (like custombuild and if it displays correctly)?

Well windows 7 should not be touched for years anymore… even windows 10 is slowly dying

@ai8, for the Evolution UI we do not target supporting a specific operating system. Instead we are targeting the support for the most popular browsers released in the last couple of years.

Could you please give us the exact browser vendor and version that does not work as expected?

Thank you for your help, fln.

When using Firefox 115.28.0esr (64-bit), user-interface elements of DirectAdmin do not appear.

Sincerely,

John

I can’t agree more. And I wasn’t trying to install it to a some sort of unsupported distro. It was AlmaLinux 9 which was suggested by @zEitEr and I am glad he did. I am happy with this decision.

As you said slowly dying. I was installing stable release of DA on a recommended distro.

I don't really understand what this has to do with his question. He's quite right. Software should be tested before releasing. As far as I know it is tested, maybe not as extended as expected.
Windows tests too. ;)
Definitely. Especially the installation part since DirectAdmin installs easily with one command is stated on pricing page.

@John_3_14-16 Why are you using such an old version of Firefox and not version 143.0.4? I guess you'll experience more issues on other sites with this old version.
Firefox has been consistently providing prompts regarding updates, and I was unaware that those updates were not the most recent versions of Firefox that could be installed on operating systems other than the one that I have.

and not version 143.0.4?
That's why I asked if he used Linux, because some OS have older Firefox version numbers.
Firefox version 115 is the last supported version for users of macOS 10.12 (Sierra), macOS 10.13 (High Sierra) and macOS 10.14 (Mojave). If you have been using Firefox on these macOS versions, you will be moved to the Firefox Extended Support Release (ESR) channel through an application update.

The visual problems in Evolution skin with very old browsers are caused be the recent upgrade in how we compute the color palette. The CSS Color 4 module allows using modern OKLCh color space and we started using it. The Firefox 115 and Google Chrome 109 does not support it.

We are preparing to provide a backwards compatibility mode for the old browsers. Once Firefox 115 becomes fully EOL we are likely to remove the backwards compatibility mode.
