NGINX Unit is archived – is there a planned replacement / ETA?

Hi,

We're currently running Node.js applications on our DirectAdmin server via NGINX Unit (installed through CustomBuild and managed from the DA panel).

As you know, NGINX Unit was archived by its maintainers in October 2025 and no longer receives updates or security fixes. Back in January, romans mentioned that the DA team is looking for a replacement, but there was no ETA at that point.

Could you share an update?

1. Has a replacement for NGINX Unit been chosen, and is there a rough timeline?
2. Will there be a migration path for existing Unit applications, or will they need to be recreated manually?

Thanks!

A small follow-up: the DirectAdmin documentation for NGINX Unit (https://docs.directadmin.com/webservices/nginx_unit/) still doesn't mention that Unit has been archived and is no longer maintained. Anyone reading the docs today would assume it's a fully supported option for new deployments.
Could the docs be updated to reflect its current status, at least until a replacement is announced?

Curious about this as well. The process handling for Nginx Unit is pretty horrible sometimes (possibly in combination with poorly written nodejs applications) so we see process remnants of old applications running forever.
