i would like ot know whether the 2 things i want are possible.

If i would register customer domains on dns servers of my isp. so not on my DA server, and edit the dns that *.domain.com would point to my da server. can i then let my customers add subdomains in their cp?

when registering domains on another dns, so not on my da server. and point the mx records to my da server. can my customers have their own mailserver? so that they can enter an hostname or ipnumer somewhere and that my da server would redirect their mail to that hostname/ipnumber?

I really don't understand either of your requests :( .

But I've moved the post to the proper forum.

let me clarify then

i am isp A
i register domain.com through isp b

1) he then makes a wildcard in the domain (dns) *.domain.com which points to my server.

Can my customers make hosting accounts for sub-domains then using DA?

2)
i let isp b edit the mx records of domain.com so that it point to my server.

can my customers somewhere enter a hostname or ipnumber where my DA would then redirect the e-mail to instead of handeling it locally?

question 1:
yes this is possible, just use the normal method.

question 2:
do you mean that you have 2 servers? server 1 is a webserver and server 2 is a mail server or do you have both on the same server? if you have both on the same server you could tell your clients to use mail.domain.tld to recieve their e-mails. they need to use the login for the e-mail adress DirectAdmin give you.

no i have only 1 server.

i register domains using my isp.

some customers dont want to use the e-mail possibilies of DA. instead they want us to send their e-mail to a hostname or ipaddress.

is that possible in DA?

You could sent the e-mail using an MX-record or an A-record to their server. Otherwhise you could use an e-mail forwarder for your clients (this is possible in DA, userlevel).
