2 issues. 1 = restore error and 1 = service monitor error

I'm trying to move some site from one DA server to another DA server (same OS and DA version).
I've tried the Admin Backup/Transfer and the get an error on not being able to read.db file.
(Unable to read /home/netwnet01/backups/backup/domain.nl/domain.nl.db : Can't open file /home/netwnet01/backups/backup/domain.nl/domain.nl.db for reading)

And when I try the Manage User Backups I get an error that it can't connect to MySQL + that same .db error!
(Error connecting to MySQL: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (13)

I need to move over about 20 sites from the one to the other or the other to the one and I just can't get it to work. Same versions and all, that should be easy peasy ..shouldn't it.

What am I doing wrong i.e. how can I get this to work?

On these 2 machines I get the response "none" when I select the Service Monitor.
I've already tried removing and recreating the services.status file,l but that doesn't solve it either.

Please advice as I'm running out of ideas (and time)

In general your steps seem to be correct. Check this http://help.directadmin.com/item.php?id=57

On these 2 machines I get the response "none" when I select the Service Monitor.

You might need to check directadmin logs, and/or run it in debug mode and what does it complain about.
