I have had to help a number of clients that place files in the wrong folder...
That is when they need to upload files I instruct them to place these in public_html unfortunately, when they open their files in either filemanager or an ftp program they see domains, imap and public_html... So they place the files in the public_html here... however there is another public_html in the domain folder and it is this one that the files need to be placed in to be seen.
How do I get rid of the first public_html and therefore the problems the client faces.

Just remove it? It's only a symlink. But you would only have that problem if you have multiple domains in a single account.

And of course you should probably be telling clients with multiple domains in their account to place their files in their

domains/DOMAIN_NAME/public_html

folder.

Not what I was hoping for...

web hosting at 5 bucks a month needs to be as easy for me as it is for the client, so instructing them on the exact way of doing things eats up 5 bucks fast, also removing the directory for every account does the same thing, Once the system has no real use for this directory it should be eliminated automatically.IE: have the "domains" folder over write/rename it from public_html to domains.

Not in my opinion. That will cost more tech support time because sometimes the correct path will be public_html and sometimes it will be domains/EXAMPLE.COM/public_html, and most users won't understand what they did to change it.

Best may be to always tell clients to use domains/EXAMPLE.com/public_html. And you can use the post script to remove the link if you want.
