I have a 3com 4200 and using mrtg/mrts to grather statistics
about the traffic of each port.
The problem is that if i connect from a server from the internet
side (eg. computer at home) everything is workin fine, but when i
try to connect from a server in the same rack (subnet) i get "no response"
from my switch.

I've spend many hours of reading different howto's but i have no clue why
i cannot use snmp on port 1 to 24 on my switch.

The only difference is when i connect from home i'm on port 26, when i
connect from a local server i'm on port 1 for example.

Does anyone has a clue ?

Can you check on which vlan port 26 is tagged and on which vlan the rest of your ports are tagged to?
Probably only port 26 is on the management vlan and the rest is on a different vlan not allowing you to have a snmp connection.

You've responded to a thread from almost a year ago. The original poster hasn't posted anything since last April. Let's see if he responds.
