At this moment we can only use 2 nameservers out of the box with DA

In these days lot of hosters/users have more than 2 nameserver, it would be awesome to have this standard in DA without doing thing in SSH

I know the HOWTO about adding the 3th nameserver in DA but this is more a hack, it should t be that hard to have this in the template

Ive never seen a reason to have more then 2, but adding up to 4 should be default.

The RFC 2182 on the Selection and Operation of Secondary DNS Servers states you must have at least 3 Name Servers, and no more than 7.

Yes it is , that is the reason for this request, i think that is easy to implement and DA is than more ready for the future

Where did you read that? Because as far as I know you shoud have at least 2 name servers, not 3.
According to: http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2182.txt and http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc2182.html
These articles also speak about "best practice" and not about "must have".

However I second your request for an option to add maximal 2 nameservers more by default, like SCSI also states.

As long as we're discussing what we'd like... I'd like to see only virtual nameservers required (many of us have outgrown the idea of using nameservers on the server using server IP#s). An unlimited number might be nice but hard to implement. Three or four definitely, as many as 7 nice.

But I'd never use that many since if you use that many you're likely using geographically dispersed servers, and if you're using geographically dispersed servers, unless there's a global Internet disruption that somehow leaves your datacenter fully able to connect, it's just overkill.

Anyway, my opinion :).

Recommended number, between 2 and 7 name servers
(RFC 2182 recommends to have at least 3 authoritative name servers for domains).

Yes it is recommended :)

Two are required, three are recommended. Although that recommendation isn't much worth; just use your own brain I would say.

But I agree it would be useful that we can add more virtual NS in DA.

There is nothing like that in the RFC 2182. In the Chapter 5 (How many secondaries) it's written that:
a) in the DNS specification it is REQUIRED to have at least two DNS servers
b) it's RECOMMENDED to have at least 3 of them.
