550 No such recipient here

Well, I broke my head finding out what was happening. Customer using own external mail server and using CloudFlare as external DNS.

What happened, e-mail send from my own account, same server, came back with this 550 error. Finally discovered that when enable DNS management also the mx records could be changed, but more important, the internal mail server could be disabled.

Is it an idea to add the enable/disable function to the modify user scheme?

Sharing because I think I am not the only one.

Hello,

It's not a good idea to have it on user edit page, as the function "Local Mail Server" is enabled/disabled per domain and a single user account may host 1+ domains.
 
As always you are completely right, but in the current situation it really well hidden. Once discovered, it is not a problem anymore :-)
