550 "Unknown User" - Local/local
Hello.
I am hosting a few domains on my server and one of the new customers wants only to host the website with me and the mail with his local provider as they are in a LAN.
Now , I do not have the DNS for this domain.
I set up the domain in DA , set up the records as follows :
A records : mail , www
NS his own NS1
NS his own NS2
MX 10 mail
As in the authoritative DNS so if exim looks locally will know is not local mail server that receives mail for the server.
Authoritative DNS answers only at www with my IP.
www points on my server
mail points on the old server and everything seems to work fine UNTIL some other users from my server are trying to send some e-mails to the users from this new domain.
Then I receive :
Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable
Server replied: 550 "Unknown User"
So even if I set up the dns records correctly the exim stil tryes to send mail locally instead of delivering to the MX record.
Any ideea what I do wrong ?
