Ability to protect the root dir

I was surprised to see that it was not possible to protect the entire public_html folder.

Therefore I wish that the next version of DA provides such functionality.

do you mean with shell accounts, users can cd ../ further into the server and still view files?

I should have explained better. I'm talking about the directory protect tool. You can protect every folder except the root one.

Yes, actually you can, but you have to use the real public_html folder, not the symbolic link:

in the filemanager, go to:

/domains/domain.com

you should see the "Protect" link beside the public_html folder.
