hello,

Can someone tell me if it possible that I can block all the ip's to access Directadmin accept my own IP:confused:

What I mean is that only I have access to Directadmin, so no body can see my login screen for Directadmin.

Thanks a lot for the help:)

Best regards,

You do it with your firewall. Allow your ip for all ports and then block the port DA is running on for everybody else.

But you can only do that if you have a static IP# serving your system, and then you'd better not forget to make a change if you're travelling with your laptop.

I like the idea of changing the port. There are so many available (64k of them in fact) that it's unlikely someone is going to notice DirectAdmin running on your system unless they're looking for it and they're acting maliciously.

Sure, it's security by obscurity, but combined with a firewall defense against port scanning, it works.

You need to leave for yourself a backdoor of some sort that only you know about and only you have the key.

@floyd: the firewall would be my method too (if I were to do this)

as for a backdoor - you can always use SSH Tunnels - even if you're running a Windows laptop over a mobile internet connection, you can still get through :)
