Hi

Anyone know how to add G suite MX record for the DA. I added through the DNS management but there no option to add Priority levels ( 1 and 5 ) with the DA. Please advise me. Thank you.

It doesn't work
It works.

To be more precise - lower numbers has higher priority or preference. So you can set 10 (in DA) for 1 (Gmail's suggested priority), 50 for 5. Just follow the sequence.

just edit /var/named/domainname.com.db

It's ok to edit these files, but after updating zones in DA, it will be overwritten (not sure about specific line, perhaps it will remain untouched). Better to deal with DNS templates then. But if all these sufferings are in the name of setting Gmail's MX priorities, there's no chance they will buy off either in this life or another.

How to do that ?

It's not obvious what are you trying to achieve, but you ask very clear questions and that is awesome - you get clear answers then.

Thank you. According to your advise I changed the values through the SSH. But when I check with intodns showing the old records. Please advise me. Thanks.

You must increase serial number in SOA record, then reload named. Usually it looks like a modify date:
if You edit this file today via DA, there will be 2020042401
if you modify it again it become 2020042402 etc. so just increase this number +1, save file, reload/restart named/bind
also wait till TTL expire (number = seconds) 14400 = 4h, 600=10min etc.

Direct admin has a G Suite MX template. It fills all the information immediately. Did someone use this successfully? Did you have to have up to 72 hrs (as google says in troubleshooting sites)?

Even though Google says that the name should be blank or @, the DirectAdmin tool fills it by default with my domain. Will it work after the 72 hrs?

I just did it a few minutes ago, but I can't make it go through with the Google Admin gmail activation tool. It shows "Missing" next to each of the ASPMX...

Please, help.

I have used the template. It usually takes at least an hour. You also might clear out the dns cache on the PC you are on. Minutes is never long enough for DNS..
