Hi,

I am interested in learning adding additional servers to system.
Is it possible to add additional servers to our webhosting system with the same domain ?

server 1
- n1.domain.com
- n2.domain.com
server 2
- n3.domain.com
- n4.domain.com
...
server n
- n(X).domain.com
- n(X+1).domain.com

Is it possible to define that much nameservers in domain registrars ?
Is it possible to use these nameserver definitions in servers ?
Does this design cause a single-point-of-failure because of the nameserver definitions ?

Thanks

Yup you can do pretty much that in DirectAdmin.

You will need to buy a license per server and setup multi-server so you can transfer your DNS zones automagically.

This will solve the single point of failure. ;)

thank you for your reply.
with this way my customers domains will be recored to all of the servers right ?

what about the
- n(X).domain.com
- n(X+1).domain.com
definitions ? is there a limitation in that multi-site setup ? or is there an any other limitation about this setup ?

because i want to provide ns(x).domain.com to all of my current and future customers. i dont want to have ns1.domain.com, ns1.othersimiliardomain.com solutions :D

Of course the single point of failure solution here is only for dns. If the server that is hosting the data goes down then you are still down. The extra dns will just keep dns alive so that mail doesn't bounce.
