I would like to perform the admin backups on a separate partition but I cannot find out how to do it. I found some similar questions but they dated from more then 10 years ago so I thought I give it another try. How to get all admin backups on separate partition?

I did reply to this question like 3 days ago on another thread, so is quite weird that you weren't able to find a reply.
Add/Edit the value local_path in: /usr/local/directadmin/data/admin/backup.conf
