Admin Level - Sent Emails

Hi,
The column 'Sent Emails' in Admin Level / Show All Users :
Can anyone clarify which emails are counted into this column?

It seems to me that not all sent messages are counted into this total.
Does it include messages sent via webmail (Roundcube, Squirrelmail), via Pop, via Imap?

Does it matter if, for instance, the email client uses Hostname of the server, or the nominal SMTP address of mail.domain.tld?
 
I think this rate is handled by Mail Transfer Agent (eg: exim or postfix). So no matter what email clients you use (roundcube, squirrelmail, outlook) or any protocols such as (pop imap) or host url, as long the email uses the MTA from the server that has limit set, then it is counted. So, there could be another reason why it is not counted.
 
Thanks MaXi32, I'm going to watch this month. I'll take one user (one domain) that I'm using myself and watch.
I often see whole months go by with the count of 0 against some users, which is just not believable.
