In Server Manager >> Admin SSL when I click a Domain, it shows a list of subdomains. On my server, it says the SSL is OFF for all of the subdomains, like shown in the screenshot.

But, SSL works and everywhere I look to enable/disable SSL, it is set to on. I am puzzled.

Perhaps this is becasuse the subdomains do not have their own ssl certificates, but uses the base domain certificate?

but uses the base domain certificate?
Correct. That might well be the case especially when autossl is used. Then no seperate entry's are used but wildcard is used, which is also valid for all subdomains. Also when you do not use autossl but created a wildcard ssl yourself.
