After change from PHP-cli to PHP-CGI apache shows content of folders

Hi All,

I have a problem that after I migrated a server from php-cli to php-cgi AND d/g from 2.2.11 to 2.0.67 I found that I do not have a default document loading such that, the server doesn't search for index.html or index.php or index.htm
It simply gives forbidden or shows the content of the folder.

Any pointers on how to fix this?
