After custombuild, worse decision yet.

All I have had is problems since I upgraded with custombuild. I would personally advise anyone considering using custombuild to stay away.

Now setting up a site in the Control Panel, it added the web site but does not add the name servers.

checked /etc/named.conf after domain setup and now it has to be done manually.

B.S. this custombuild.

The other version I had running, never a problem. custombuild is beta.

Sorry, but you are not right. CustomBuild doesn't touch named.conf at all. And it does not install/update bind. If you want me to say where is the problem - just let me know, I'll take a look at your server.

Fixed. Your /usr/local/directadmin/data/templates/zone.conf file was empty, so why do you say that CustomBuild caused the problem?

As I stated in my PM.

Used DirectAdmin for 2 years with the other build, my problems only started when I upgraded to custombuild.

In short no problems, best dam CP in the world as far as I'm concerned, then upgrade to custombuild and my server turns into a beast with a mind of it's own.

Yeah, I'm no system admin, and yeah I very green at this. :o

But maybe they should put a warning label on the custombuild, sort like the Preparation H tube; "Not for oral use..."

Why a "warning label" if your problem was not related to the CustomBuild script?

Uh...if custom build was as bad as you say then the forum would be filled with all sorts of whines and accusations like you made. Given that's not the case, it may be the problems you're having are an isolated instance.

Many times I've installed things "exactly" per the instructions...and after hours of frustration I've found I screwed up.

At my tender number of years I've learned to ask "What have I done wrong?", followed by, "What's wrong with my equipment?" If I really ask those questions and really search for the answers, I seldom can blame the "package".

But, then again, I am a dottering old man, confused easily by modern technology like electric lights and shoe laces.

So I am confused, smtalk fixed it? From what I read the problem was in a file what wasn't touched by custom build. As I understand it custom build is a script written by smtalk so I would assume smtalk knows exactly what it does, and said person also fixed your issue on your server, not by modifying the script. If the problem is with the script why not fix the script?

oh yea, and lol

do they even still use shoe laces?

do they even still use shoe laces?

The sales manager at the button hook factory tells me that we have lost a big part of the market share because these laces even allow little children to tighten their shoes.

Next thing you know the bottom will drop of of the celluloid collar business.

Some oriental guy down the block has this wooden frame with beads...he can do sums on it real quick...maybe I should get into that....but having the support center in Agentina makes it tough....it takes 6 months to get the question there by ship and another months to get the answer back.
