after trying to update to php4.2, cant ssh

HELP!!!

hi, i have fedora core 3.

I tried to update my php from php4.4.0 to php4.4.2 via the customapache's ./build

but after doing the , matrix with codes flying up n down,
all of a sudden my ssh window just closed (im using putty).
and i cant connect back to my server via ssh!

since i get no error message when i connect from my pc, i tried to connect from different linux machine. and when i try to connect from other Server, i get this error, ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host

my ssh is hosted on port 26.

any idea on why ssh just stopped working when all i tried to do was a update of php ?

I really need help ASAP!
 
I believe this was discussed previously. Search the forum using just the version number of your php installation and you should find something.
