Almalinux 9 now available

Yes, I would be celebrating too IF we can go from 8 to 9 without having to recreate the server.

mmm.. fresh kernel, with support of all fresh hardware, nice :)
so now no sense to move from centos 7 to alma 8, when we can move to alma 9 and skip one step.

lets wait if the inplace upgrade is possible for AL 9
It would be nice, but i prefer clean install with all new packages etc. also it's posibility to upgrade hardware :)
I think almalinux 9 become really stable in 1 year, so in may 2023 we still will have 1 year of support of centos7 and already tested/fixed/stable almalinux 9 for clean upgrade. (without such issues as we see in this forum about upgrade alma 8.5->8.6)

Does Almalinux 9 come with a graphical user interface (GUI) or is it command-line only? Can I switch between the two interfaces?

I'm sorry, first upping a 16 year old post and now you want to use a GUI? DA has it's own GUI, you don't use the OS GUI with a linux server running hosting panel.
Or do you want to play at home with it to build experience?
