Hi, is there an alternative firewall available? I've had it 3 times since yesterday, that my server suddenly was no longer reachable by web or SSH. Only booting to rescue mode and there uninstalling csf helps.

I've not made any changes to initial configuration. Yesterday I got a second IP routed to my server but the reinstall of Debian and DirectAdmin was after that. Working without firewall is definitely no option.

Regards Kristian

I can assure you this has nothing to do with CSF , maybe your router or provider his core router has some issues or faulty network interface
If you insist for other firewall maybe this blog can help

This is not a CSF issue indeed. I've seen this happening with somebody else too in the very recent past and the cause was that this person was blocked by the firewall.

So best is to add your ip to the csf.allow and csf.ignore files and in the /usr/local/directadmin/data/admin/ip_whitelist (create when not exists) file.

Check if the issue occurs again then. Maybe also check your lfd.log files to see why you get blocked if that is the case.

If you do want to change, you might want to check apf/bfd but most likely same can happen if you can't find out the real cause.

Hello Kristian,

I believe, you can always switch to raw iptables. And DirectAdmin should be fine with it. Directadmin can still block attacking IPs using iptables, if nothing changed on their side.
