I have one for sale - 700$ revolut , wired transfer , paypal ...
owned license means , you don't have to pay on monthly basis or number of customers
it's one-time payment

Tempting, but not for me my friend.

Taken from WHMCS Site: "Support and Updates was part of a legacy "Owned" license type which was removed from sale in 2016 and licenses grandfathered. As of 6th April 2021, Support and Updates have been discontinued and are no longer available. It determines eligibility to receive technical support and software updates. The following does not apply to monthly leased licenses."

Would mean I couldn't update to newer versions, although I would get security updates. I'll be moving away from WHMCS myself also next year I think as even their monthly paid subscriptions are getting stupid as they are hiking prices AGAIN in January.

I wish you luck with selling it though, It has to be useful for somebody 😊

Finding latest version is not difficult , is it really ?
All you need is to update domain name in panel and enjoy , while it receives security updates there must not be great concern , at least I think so ...

Yeah, that makes sense. If support and updates are discontinued for that legacy license, it’s a tough sell unless someone’s happy staying on an older version long term. Only getting security fixes but no feature updates would be a dealbreaker for a lot of people, especially with how fast things change.

I don’t blame you for thinking about moving away from WHMCS either, especially with the price increases. At some point it just stops feeling worth it. Still, for the right setup or budget, it might suit someone. Appreciate the honest take, and good luck with your transition next year.
