I haven't found anything too encouraging; this thread is fairly negative.

Searching these forums for apache2 (no space) should give you a few threads to look at.

There were a few negative posts today, include a server completely down.

I can't speak for why the problem occurred, but I still recommend not using Apache 2 unless you've got a good reason.
