***Apache HELP***

HEY
before i installed apache and compile it again

i had a cool thing....if theres a file "cool.php" on "domain.com"
i was able to enter to that page just by entering "domain.com/cool"
without the need to add ".php"

i havent installed any mod_rewrite or something like that
i just had it with the apache

and now its disabled for some reason
please help me guys

i have a few big sites that based on that option

This is usually supported via apache's "MultiViews". You can do this per virtual host or just put it in your httpd.conf in your <Directory /home/*> block, for example:

I believe MultiViews was enabled in Apache 1.x but not in Apache 2.x... any particular reason why it's no longer defaulted?
