Has anyone successfully installed apf on a centos 4, xen based vps?

Trying, without much luck atm. On a Xen, CentOS 4.3 VPS.

Keep getting

-bash-3.00# service apf start
Starting APF:Development mode enabled!; firewall will flush every 5 minutes.
Unable to load iptables module (ip_tables), aborting.
[ OK ]

Setting MONOKERN="1" didn't work either.

XEN may not allow certain iptables firewall commands to work. I remember that as a case with some VPS vendors.

Ask your vendor about creating firewalls with your VPS.

Yup I'm running CentOS 4.3 on Xen w/ APF on it. Set monokern to 1 and check lib/mod. I've had better luck with APF on Xen then on Virtuozzo.

Got it working now. :P

And it was my own stupid mistake it seems. I had added a line MONOKERN="1" manually into the config file, without noticing that SET_MONOKERN="0" actually existed in the config.

Needless to say, this is not one of my better moments. ^_^

Sure it is. You learned something, and you taught us as well.

All's well that ends well.
