apply patch

i know this is not the right forum and i sure feel dumb to have to ask this....but i am just drawing a blank and the calendar forum ain't helpin....

i need to run a patch that i downloaded from a calendar sourceforge site Location to be exact

I know it has to be done from a command prompt...something like cvs diff -C but that is all I know....
Could anyone provide a little help this way?

diff is used to create the .patch file
try:
patch filetopatch < diffs.patch
