I'm having some problems with receiving mail.

I've this user account (user.com) set up on a shared ip x.x.x.58 created using my admin account.

Now, I've assigned the ip x.x.x.250 to user.com by going to my reseller level of "admin" and assigning the ip to the user account (user.com).

Afterwhich I proceed on to modify user.com's profile to use the ip x.x.x.250.

Now the problem is, when I send mails from external sources (ie. gmail) to [email protected], I don't receive it.

My e-mail account is empty.

I'm expecting an e-mail from my SSL provider and I'm not sure if its gone for sure.

The nameservers that user.com uses is at the moment pointing to my old IP.

Will this affect anything even though both x.x.x.58 and x.x.x.250 are on the same physical server?

Also, www.user.com points to my new ip, and user.com points to my old ip.

What's going on!

Update Below
An update, i've got a bounced message when I try to send a mail from my external source to my account's email at [email protected].

This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification

Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:

[email protected]

Technical details of permanent failure:
PERM_FAILURE: SMTP Error (state 9): 550 5.7.1 <[email protected]>... we do not relay <[email protected]>

But from internal, I can mail external but not vice versa.

Also,

After trying to ssh through my new ip address also gives me a connection refused.

A ping test confirms that the ip is working.

I'm using APF, but I've checked my apf.conf and it doens't seem to ask for external addresses etc.

I've also noticed that in my DNS management, rei.user.com points to x.x.x.250 (new ip)

BUT, when I ping rei.user.com, it points to the old ip.

It appears you've given us phony information, which makes it impossible to do any troubleshooting for you.
