Has anyone got atmail open edition working with a directadmin Dovecot setup?

Upgrade from previous version mired in permissions problems described elsewhere in this forum. Simplest solution is to drop the atmail database and and rm /var/www/html/atmail

Then in custombuild

./build atmail

yields a working configuration. Obviously this only an option if you don't care what is in the database (take a look first!).

got a question,

is there a way for users to change their own passwords? with atmail?

So those of you who say it is working why dont you show the directory structure of your Maildir folder....

We have been using atmail and it does not work with existing imap directories from the dovecot installation.

ls -al /home/user/imap/domain.com/user/Maildir

and show us your directory structure for your folders.

I dont think anyone can claim a working installation unless your folders have been renamed which in turn breaks squirrelmail

You must have mistaken my intentions. I was asking nicely. If you notice the other atmail threads I have hammered out trying to come up with a working solution for some time without anyone speaking up that has a working install.

So if some people have working installs and some don't I am trying to get to the bottom of the differences so Directadmin can be better supported with atmail.

pera,

can you please show me an ls -al output of your Maildir folder from the centos machine?

Had a minute so I took a look at atmail again. I don't have any atmail users so I confirmed that it does send and receive mail and checked how it plays with squirrelmail. Most obvious bug is that mail sent from atmail does get copied to the sent folder. Otherwise, can send from both squirrel and atmail and see the same stuff in inbox and trash

The user mail directory (centos/dovecot) looks like this

drwxrwx--- 10 ??????? mail 4096 Sep 5 15:07 .
drwxrwx--- 3 ??????? mail 4096 Mar 29 15:58 ..
drwxrwx--- 2 ??????? mail 4096 Sep 5 15:06 cur
-rw------- 1 ??????? mail 256 Sep 5 15:02 dovecot.index
-rw------- 1 ??????? mail 23552 Sep 5 15:06 dovecot.index.cache
-rw------- 1 ??????? mail 8880 Sep 5 15:07 dovecot.index.log
-rw------- 1 ??????? mail 73 Sep 5 15:06 dovecot-uidlist
drwxrwx--- 5 ??????? mail 4096 Sep 5 15:05 .INBOX.Drafts
drwxrwx--- 5 ??????? mail 4096 Sep 5 15:06 .INBOX.Sent
drwxrwx--- 5 ??????? mail 4096 Sep 5 15:05 .INBOX.spam
drwxrwx--- 5 ??????? mail 4096 Sep 5 15:05 .INBOX.Trash
drwxrwx--- 2 ??????? mail 4096 Sep 5 15:08 new
drwxrwx--- 5 ??????? mail 4096 Aug 22 18:03 .Spam
-rw-rw---- 1 ??????? mail 52 Aug 22 18:02 subscriptions
drwxrwx--- 2 ??????? mail 4096 Sep 5 15:08 tmp

Hope that helps

If you create a folder called .INBOX.Saved

can atmail move stuff to this folder?

or .INBOX.Anything for that matter

I have centos, atmail 1.02 and the latest dovecot and cannot see mail in folders that are prefixed with .INBOX
