Authentication from another CP

Hello,

I work for a web hosting company and we're currently in the middle of integrating DirectAdmin with our own control panel. We have the DirectAdmin interface skinned and everything is looking good.

We hit a snag recently that we're trying to resolve. We have our own control panel that allows users to manage their account settings and we're attempting to push users from that interface into DA via a "Web Hosting CP" link. What we're unsure of is how exactly to authenticate these users with their DirectAdmin user.

As far as we understand, DirectAdmin is authenticating directly off the /etc/passwd file, which makes external authentication and/or password modification a bit messy. Is there an easy way of going about this? Does anyone have any experience with building something like this?

Thanks!

DirectAdmin may work with other methods of linux/unix authorization; I'm not sure.

You might want to contact DirectAdmin staff.
