Just wondering what your thoughts on this...

I am not 100% ok with DA auto-updating. I appreciate it. I can understand that they would do it to previent holes in security but I can't see it the way we do it currently.

Most auto-updating is done because the code is locked and they are not modifying anything but bug fixes. What I am worried about is that "untested" DA updates are being installed. We don't have time to test them or verify we want them installed. The reason is the security updates are provided with new features, etc.

I read that if we change the port that we connect DA to that it will stop auto updates, but don't you think possibly we need a option in the Admin Settings to disable that? By default it could be left on but the admin has the choice to turn it off?

Here here!

Count me in on this thread. As an ex-cPanel admin I say it is very important to let the server admin choose the upgrade method.

Go to the cPanel forums and you will find some very frightening auto update stories. I don't recall reading about any DA auto update problems, but time has a way of fixing that.

Vote #2 on option for auto/manual DA updates.

Cheers!

I am sure we all appreciate you making sure we are up-to-date! I would make sure that it updates automatically by default. Look at all those Windoze users who don't run the windows updates :p .

Thanks for the addition!
