Hey guys,

This may be a dumb question, but I would like to be able to offer basic WordPress hosting packages to the public via my DirectAdmin Server... Problem is, I have no idea how to automate the process.

What I want to to is have someone come to our site, register, pay and immediately be able to manage their website - all without my intervention.

Any ideas?

www.whmcs.com

It is a billing system where user pays, it uses directadmin api to setup the account and then emails info to the customer. Then they login and do whatever they do.

You can also get one at www.awbs.com which is a little different.

@scsi, I think what Brad is looking for is a way to automaticaly set up WordPress.

@Brad, you might check with the Installatron folk to see if they've got an available API.

Otherwise you might be able to do something with a combination of a post-create script and API calls to get information.

Anyone else have any ideas?

Jeff

You both are correct, so excuse me for being vague... I want to automate BOTH - user DirectAdmin registration for hosting and WordPress installation afterwards if they choose to do so.

Great info scsi, but I do have one question... Which of the two options you gave me is better (more options, or more importantly, most customizable)? I noticed that AWBS is $169 and mentions no branding, while WHMCS is $325. Money isn't an issue, I would just like to make sure that whatever I get is the best I can get.

Any other info on an API for WordPress install from DirectAdmin would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all!!!

Edit: Just installed Installatron (don't know why I haven't until now) but it does offer WordPress - thanks Jeff!

I think awbs is harder to integrate into already designed sites and is better for a complete solution, where as whmcs is more of a billing addition to a site you have already designed. Both have demos which I am sure you can try out to see which you like better. I personally own awbs and choose it because I suck at webdesign and its better for me because I didnt have to do much in web design to make it work. But alot of people use whmcs and really like it. They both are great products and both come with reseller accounts on enom.com to sell domains as well.

There is this addon program too:

I still personally prefer installatron though it has been a good product and stable. I just wish they would add more programs to it.
