Hi,

a customer of us has unintentionally used the "AutoResponder" instead of the "Vacation Messages". Hereupon he lost emails ...

Can the system warn the user if he activates an AutoResponder for active email addresses?

TIA,
Mike

I do not believe that autoresponders should delete incomming email, they should only send a automatic response back to the person that sent the email but the one they sent to you should remain in your inbox.

To the DA staff:

How about a slight change to exim.conf so if the autoresponder address already exists the email will continue on to be forwarded there, and otherwise will be forwarded to a bit-bucket?

Jeff

Any developpement on this ? I is a real problem. It should foward the emails when the mailbox exists.

I have customers who make this mistake and I find this behavior very unexpected.
