Hi,

anyone succesfully run awstats mail logging?

i tried the awstas mail logging by following the document here:
http://awstats.sourceforge.net/docs/awstats_faq.html#MAIL

it seems that the maillogvonvert.pl script can't recognised the format of /var/log/maillog. a close examination of the maillog, i realised that it is very different from my previous sendmail log at other server.

the maillogconvert just doesnt work. change the maillogconvert.pl standard to vadmin (as given in the awstats FAQ), the problem still persist. pointed it to use file /var/log/exim/mainlog/ , still no luck.

any advice?

thanks a lot

From the FAQ:

For Postfix, Sendmail, QMail or MDaemon log files
I don't see Exim in there :s could be my eyes

You could write your own script to give the same output as the original convert.pl script ;)

one other options, to display mail stats,
by analyzing exim logs is Isoqlog:

http://www.enderunix.org/isoqlog/

looks to be straighforward to install,
and required no modification to exim
logging, or any pre-processing of
exim logs (to fit a particular script)

(also available in freebsd ports)

Note that the exim.conf supplied with DirectAdmin doesn't use "standard" exim logging. To use "standard" exim logging you may want to get a default exim.conf file from the exim site and modify the logging section.

Hi all,

Isoglog may be an option but awstats mail logging is more detail. i used it at last time at 1 of my vps account. the info given was great.

how i wish i have the knowledge to do so :( would you mind to write a simple script and share it with all of us over here? i believe many will greatly appreacite and grateful for that. especially me. :D

Any other way to get this work this work?
