back-up restoring what with passwords?

hi all,

we got ourself a new server we wanted to transfer the old accounts to the new server. there is a good item about it number 57 i thought it was.

our question is if the passwords also get restored when we restore a back-up.
i'm not in the knowlegde of all passwords of the resellers so i just wanted to make those accounts with 1 password and hope it will be restored bij the back-up.

In general yes. The exception would be if you're switching between major versions of MySQL, and a new password system is in use.

i already tried it some times the admin password get changed and the rest also.

we have 2 server that are the same only difference is that the one has hardware raid so we just need the data of the old server on the new one when we are swapping them.

If both servers have the same versions of everything, then you shouldn't have a problem. If you do, then make sure you're backing up everything.

Otherwise if it continues you might want to continue DirectAdmin support.
