As the topic says, what is in your opinion, the best practice on backups and how are you doing it?

na, daily backups to a second drive which are then backed up to a dedicated backup/storage server in a different continent. (better safe than sorry 
)
I also keep the last 3 days worth of backups on my server, and also the last backup made each month. (I have submitted a bash script for cron that manages this elsewhere on these forums).
