Hi,

In the settings for 'Backup / Restore' could it be possible to add an additional email option.

Currently there is this option:

:: Send a message when a backup has finished.

Would it be possible to add:

:: Send a message when a backup reports an error.

We would like to only receive emails when there is an error not an email everytime a backup is done.

Cheers

Neil :-)

I like it. :D

Edit: well, I know it can be done my modifying crontab, but... it'd be nice inside DA.

Hey, good news. :)

You'll receive a message if an error occurs regardless of your current checkbox status.

I just received one on my system from an error and I don't have that option to receive emails when it's finished ON.

I don't know if they heard you and implemented it on the newer version (1.52.2, which I'm currently using), or if it was already like that (which in my opinion sounds more possible 'cause they didn't reply THIS thread -- and well, it's common sense ;)).

Anyway, good job!

Ah! I think you are correct in saying that this has always been there when an error occurs. So I will be switching the email option off and see how we get on.

Thanks for letting us know!

No problem. :)

By the way, this is how the ticket looks like (you'll receive an email regarding the new ticket):

Subject: An error occurred during the backup.

Error Compressing the backup file /home/admin/user_backups/admin/backup/home.tar.gz : /usr/bin/tar: Error in writing to standard output
/usr/bin/tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now

Error Compressing the backup file admin.tar.gz : /usr/bin/tar: domains/mydomain.com/public_html/somefile.txt: file changed as we read it
/usr/bin/tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
