Hello

One of our servers needs to be reinstalled. On this server we have DA running with a number of users on it.

While reinstalling i'd like to change the main domainname (which holds NS1 and NS2 on the server).

If i do a complete backup of a user account. Can i reinstall the server and change NS domains, and then restore the users without any problems?

I could do a manual backup (copying files and databases), but some users have lots of email accounts configured that i would like to keep.

Use admin level backup for backup all users.

Once restored i suppose nameserver will be taken from actual server nameserver (but not sure, maybe you need to contact da staff for this information).

Otherwise, you will need to edit the nameserver (not sure if there is a script for this but with sed i think you can do that easly).

So worst case scenario is that i have to change nameservers manually for each user? I can live with that since we only have like 20 domains on that server.

Actually yes, never had any issue on server migrate (different os too, tested debian => centos).

You would prolly just need to have same apache php mysql (specially mysql i suppose) and on custom http confs (but not that important).

Will the acutal emails in their inboxes be backed up as well? I can see "All data" in the admin backup window and it says:

E-mail accounts
E-mail settings
Mailing lists
Vacation messages
Autoresponders
Forwarders
Mailing lists

This is my first backup/restore with DA so i'm quite nervous, hence the stupid questions =)
