We can make successful backups on a slightly stale version of DirectAdmin, and then move them to a new server running a different slightly stale version of DirectAdmin.
They won't restore:
When we update both servers to ltest version and backup again, restores work fine.
I'm guessing this is an issue caused by increased security in how backup/restore works when it sees files owned by root.
Has anyone else seen similar behavior?
In any event, if you're saving very old DirectAdmin backups this could cause a problem if you need to restore them, so maybe we should ask for a switch which would allow us to restore files made with root file ownership.
Any comments?
Jeff
