backup / restore -> unicode error

Hello

I have made full backup in User level (using Create/Restore Backups feature). It includes mySQL database, containing unicode text. However, after restoring, the unicode text is shown as

du h�?c �?ức – �?HKH
H�?c tiếng Việt ở Paris

Is there any idea that I can fix? mySQL when backing up and restoring is the same 4.1.11

Hello,

Try logging into phpmyadmin. Check to see if the data is garbled there. There is a probably a charset issue somewhere (something I don't have much experience with). The charset can be set during table creation, but you'll likely be able to change it via phpmyadmin.
