Good day,

Is there a simple way to do a full system backup, which would include the server hardening configuration / iptables config, etc that was done to my VPS as well as my Admin user account?

I'm guessing when I use the backup feature from the Admin panel of DirectAdmin (https://[myURL].com:2222/admin/backups) and if I select "Admin" from Step 2 that it will not backup such rules like iptables?

or ?

Thanks for your help!
Shawn

in this case only snapshot of all OS can help you, if this is VPS - you can make snapshot using hypervisor tools, if this is a dedicated server - you can use rsnapshot or something like this.

Agree with @Zhenyapan in terms of taking a snapshot of the server. That's what I do every month. Do you use CSF? If so, there is a backup function if you're worried about iptables / firewall hardening settings.

Thanks for your help @Zhenapan and @BillyS !
Yes, I use CSF. So if I backup / restore those CSF settings, a DirectAdmin System Settings backup, would that probably cover all the hardening rules that were in place at the other web host I have my site at?

I've only done clean installs in terms of moving to a new host. Are you moving to an identical environment?
