Hello,

I've noticed the backup_tmpdir setting is still ignored when running local backups (for example to a mounted NFS share). This will cause unnecessary network usage, because currently during local backups the temporary directory is created in the same path where the backup destination resides.

AFAIR I already noticed that about four years ago, when I posted this feature request: https://forum.directadmin.com/threa...-local-backups-too-locally-mounted-nfs.52941/

Any chance to have this fixed?

If it wasn’t moved or you didn’t move this to the new site. I doubt it’s being considered. You are looking in the old read only area.

I wil reply here, otherwise I need to sign up at the feedback as well (pfff)

I have the same problem, files are sent over LAN to a slow HDD which is only meant for saving the backup, not creating and zipping it.
# da config-get backup_tmpdir
/home/tmp
It does not work for normal (local) backups.
Please make it work so our backups are speedy again.
