Im using the System Backup option on the admin level menu of direct admin control panel, if i tick all the directories in the list towards the bottom left except for

/var/spool/virtual (leave this unticked).

It just ignores the fact that I haven't selected this directory for backup and still backs it up anyway, I don't want to back up this directory because it is very big and i think the files within it are covered by the user level backups, could someone confirm if that is the case?

Thanks,

Paul

Have you checked to make sure no other checked option will call for this backup?

All of these are selected for backup :

Backup httpd data
Backup DNS data
Backup MySQL Databases
Backup Directories and Files listed below

/etc/mail
/etc/virtual
/home/admin
/usr/lib/apache
/usr/local
/usr/local/directadmin/data
/usr/local/frontpage
/usr/share/ssl
/var/log
/var/mail
/var/named
/var/spool/cron
/var/spool/mail
/var/www

So I guess if there isnt a bug in the backup scripts then the only other explanation is if /var/spool/virtual is being symlinked'd to by one of the above directories.

No Issue now

Actually im talking nonsense, there isnt an issue. You dont check the check boxes in order to have them included in the backup, everything in the list is included in the backup, you check the check boxes and then press the delete button at the bottom to remove from the list checked items from the backup list.
