Hi,
I have a question about working with rDNS (on dedicated IP domains)
if the domains are shared on the main IP, the Reverse DNS go's to the main domain (with rDNS from the shared IP) so it OK (when is the same like the host name.

but if the domain have a dedicated IP, the rDNS go's to the this domain, and this is not match with the SMTP Banner.
the SMTP Banner is the host-name of the server
what I need to change?
Option a: change the rDNS for the unique domain with the dedicated IP to the host-name

Option b: change the SMTP Banner per IP

the questions:
1. What is better?
2. there is there better options?

Best Regards,
Star Network.

We send all emails from the same IP#; the main server IP#, and we set rDNS to the hostname.

It shouldn't really matter if servers follow RFCs because RFCs require only that rDNS be set to something with forrward DNS matching, but not that they be the same as the sending origin domain name.
