I understand that the "spam" folder is not per-user in DirectAdmin. (this would be a valuable feature to add!)

If each email address cannot get a "spam" folder to check using IMAP, what is the best practice for email users to configure their Spamassassin settings?

What works for you?

Just rewrite subject? Just use a perfect threshold and deleting flagged spam?

Thanks for your ideas. If I can feel good about spamassassin in DA, I will order my new VPS with DA right away!

Hi - Spam Assassin is not perfect by a long way and especially across multiple users I would never recommend just deleting the mail - There are too many false positives.

If you want to block known spammers use Spamblocker which is distributed with DA. A quick search of the forums will bring a few threads on enabling Spamblocker.

Personally I just have a low threshold set in SA and use the email filter system build into DA to filter most words I don't want then anything else gets marked up.

We use Spamblocker on all our servers too.

On the majority of my email addresses my Spam Assassin is set to mark up as spam, send as an attachment and the threshold is around 2.0

Hope this helps,

Rob
