Big issue with password that was changed after backup

Ok so I made an error.

On my new DA panel I created a reseller (lets say magistar).After a few days I decided to import my domain, which was also named exactly the same. Except it was a user.

So from the admin I imported the user backup. Now my reseller's password was changed and I have no way to access through FTP!

I tried to generate a new password but because I have not setup dns etc those mails will never be send. I also tried "passwd magistar" from SSH. However after doing that I still cannot login through ftp. Any suggestions :|?

I do not know why the SSH shell command passwd did not work. However I was able to salvage the situation from the Administrator level>Change passwords.

It looks like all domain settings got appended too my reseller package. So I guess that is fine.

Hello,

ProFTPd by default does not use PAM, it uses it's own file to store password hashes. Since that they won't be updated in CLI with passwd, you should change them through Directadmin only, or if you've got expirience directly in ProFTPd's password file.
