I have tried restarting all services, Im stumped, this guy is a good customer too id hate to lose him please help

also my dns settings dont seem to be taking I tried to add an irc a record for a domain and it never took, its still showing what I entered in dns admin

Does your /etc/resolv.conf contain any local DNS servers? If so, delete those lines and add external ones.

[edit]sorry, i thought it was a local DNS problem but it seems you mean DNS records you add never get created.[/edit]

I searched and found the answer here, just had to try a few different searches. It turns out it done that because my hostname was the same as a domain on the server, I changed it and it worked.

powerdomein,

Please don't double post.

felosi says his problem was that his hostname was the same as one of his domain names.

He was probably referring to this page, but if not, maybe to one of the pages found here.

it was the hostname being same as domain on the box. However there is still a bad problem with da mail. I admin 2 servers with da and all a sudden people will stop getting their mail or getting things they was supposed to have got days ago. Going in and restarting exim does the trick, usually they get bombed with all the mail taht was clogged up somehow

check your mail queue and see if the is a lot of mail in it.

It sounds like exim crashed and when you restarted it the mail got delivered.

wasnt that, It has done this to me on about 4 different servers and now both my directadmin servers do this. I just out service exim restart on a dilay cron job. I think it has helped
